Dickens of a Christmas
Head across the Market Square Pedestrian Bridge and be a part of the memories at one of the Roanoke Valley's premiere holiday celebrations; The Roanoke Times Dickens of a Christmas! Celebrating it's 35th anniversary, Dickens occurs on the first three Fridays in December.
This year's schedule is:
Friday, December 7 from 5:30 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday, December 14 from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Friday, December 21 from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Spectacular Saturdays at The Taubman Museum of Art
Spectacular Saturdays take place every Saturday from 10:00am - 5:00pm in Art Venture, the Taubman Museum's interactive gallery. Art Venture is an innovative exploratory gallery for youth and families. Visitors to Art Venture can paint, draw, build, connect music with art, investigate 3D printing and printmaking, create sculptures, display artwork, and much more. This interactive hands-on learning environment includes continuously changing programming that engages children ages 12 months to 17 years and connects to our exhibitions and permanent collections.

The worst kids in the world have just found out that there are free snacks at Sunday school. AND they insist on playing all of the good parts in the annual Christmas pageant. They’ve never heard the Christmas story, and have no idea who Mary, Joseph or the wise men are. Will the pageant be canceled? Will the other kids even show up to participate? Will this be the worst pageant ever?
