What started as a friendly internal competition has now become a regular nightly feature and rotation! The Chefs from the Regency Room proudly deliver a four course menu featuring small plate offerings and paired perfectly with a wine offering! A different Chef every two weeks provides a glimpse into the passion and experimentation on a range of house specialties, taking advantage of fresh seasonal ingredients and delivering a special menu to the table.

2020 TEA DANCES - Sunday, February 16, 2020 - 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Shine up those dancing shoes and grab your friends as The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is proud to announce the 2020 Tea Dance Series.

Foxtrotters, sultans of swing, whiz waltzers and fans of ballroom dancing are invited to join the historic property to celebrate the coming of the seasons in 2019. Occurring quarterly throughout the year, the Tea Dances offer the public a day of entertainment, dancing, dining and camaraderie, as well as an opportunity to learn various types of dance steps in ballroom dancing.

“With foot tapping tunes from the show band and modern eras everyone will be on their feet for a great afternoon,” said Brian Wells, general manager of The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. “It’s a great way to learn about ballroom dancing if you’re new or it’s just an excuse to have a good time and come dance!”

The dances occur on selected dates from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. with a dinner buffet break from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. in The Regency Room. Ticket prices are $40 per person and include dinner, tax and gratuity.

Executive Chef Stephen DeMarco brings more than 28 years of experience to the region following his most recent work as owner of his own restaurant consulting firm and serving as a private chef in the New York Metropolitan area. You can see Executive Chef DeMarco teaching his culinary knowledge on WDBJ7, WSLS and WFXR on a regular basis.

The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center, Curio – A Collection by Hilton is excited to introduce Colin Lloyd as the new Chef de Cuisine of The Regency Room. Lloyd brings an innovative and visionary approach to dining developed throughout his career in the United Kingdom, the Caribbean and the United States.
Born in Nottingham, England, Lloyd’s love for the kitchen began at home with his mother. A 31 industry veteran, he was educated in the UK system earning his bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management at Clarendon College.
“The great aspect of Chef Lloyd is he brings a strong outside and worldly perspective to a culinary market that is taking off and quickly gaining recognition,” said Gary Walton, general manager of The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center.
After graduating, Lloyd worked for number establishments throughout the United Kingdom and Europe before moving to Bermuda where he joined the famous Southampton Princess Resort, working his way up the ranks to executive chef. In 2003, he became owner and executive chef of Bermuda’s award-winning restaurant, Greg’s Steakhouse, which claimed a number of awards, including multiple Best of Bermuda honors, the prestigious Wine Spectator award for best wine list and gold medals at the Certified Angus Beef Caribbean/Mexico Chef’s competition in Mexico City.
“I’m excited about this new challenge and look forward to working with a great team of chefs,” says Lloyd.“I look to complement the ingredients in my dishes with each other perfectly.I like to find balance with traditional techniques and styles and bring them into my own from preparing to presentation.”
